Arrived in Hoi An in the middle of the afternoon. The hotel chosen by Sinh Café to drop us off at was the Hoai Thanh Hotel. We decided to stay there which was a bit of a mistake since it is a little way out of town (only 10 minutes or so) and there were better places in the middle of town. Had a nice walk around this pleasant town

Hoi An has a number of sites and it is necessary to buy a joint ticket (25000 dong) to visit them. Some of these sites are worthwhile (the Chinese Meeting Halls for example) but others are little more than a shop selling souvenirs.

Hoi An is famous for its tailor shops. I decided to get a pair of lightweight trousers made up. These were done in about 24 hours and were OK but not perfect. Although many people get a lot of clothes made here, I think that you need to know exactly what you want and be able to specify it to the shops in order for it to work out well.

Tour to My Son ($2). My Son is a city built by the Champa Kingdom between the 4th century and 13th century. It has been badly damaged by wars over the years, the Chinese, Khmer, Vietnamese and Americans have all had a go at destroying it, but enough is still standing to make it worth the trip

Tonight I got the night bus to Nha Trang. I had not been feeling well all day so this may not have the best idea because I spent the whole journey wanting to go to the toilet. Luckily we did stop plenty of times but I got very little sleep.
